New Delhi: NMDC Limited has joined the national Swachhata Movement - Swachhata Hi Sewa from September 15 to October 2, 2023. As a part of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, employees pledged to devote two hours per week towards cleanliness for a clean and green nation, on Saturday at its head office and projects across country.

In the spirit of Shramdaan, NMDC employees started the campaign at their workplace by cleaning their desks, cabinets, offices and workshops.

Committed to garner Jan Bhagidari for Swachhata, NMDC is organising Cleanliness Drives at townships, marketplaces, bus stands and other public places. The company also initiated an Awareness Drive to ‘Best Plastic Pollution’ by encouraging its internal and external stakeholders to eliminate single-use plastic.

Engaging children in the campaign, NMDC administered the Swachhata Pledge in its Project Schools and also organized competitions on the themes of Swachhata Hi Sewa. NMDC has chalked an extensive public campaign from its Head Office in Hyderabad and Projects across India towards the country’s vision of achieving Sampoorna Swachhata.

Nation’s responsible mining company, NMDC is dedicated to build a Sustainable Future for India. On the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, company’s CMD (Additional Charge) Amitava Mukherjee said, “We must come together and devote our resources towards a Clean India, Green India. With large-scale swachhata drives, NMDC is proud to be taking part in the National Cleanliness Movement.”

NMDC will also be conducting a nationwide cleanliness drive, 1 Tareekh 1Ghanta 1 Saath on 1st October where one village by each project in the respective locations- Kirandul and Bacheli in Chhattisgarh, Donimalai in Karnataka and Panna in Madhya Pradesh will be covered.
