
New Delhi: NTPC Bongaigaon observed the 54th National Safety Day with a series of events aimed at reinforcing safety awareness and adherence to safety norms.
The day commenced with General Manager (O&M) Debabrata Kar unfurling the Safety Flag at the plant premises in the presence of NTPC employees, CISF personnel, associates, and contract workers. Following the flag hoisting, Kar administered the safety pledge to all present, emphasizing the significance of safety in both professional and personal spheres.
In his address, he highlighted the critical importance of adhering to safety protocols across all plant operations and urged strict compliance with the safety framework by all departments and contract workers. The GM (Operation) Asutosh Biswas also addressed the gathering, focusing on various safety aspects and the responsibility of every employee in maintaining a safe workplace.
The event was organised and coordinated by AGM (Safety) Pavel Sarker who outlined the objectives and importance of the day, reiterating NTPC’s commitment to safety excellence. A knowledge-sharing forum was conducted as part of the celebrations, where representatives from contractual workers, associates, and other site engagement teams shared insights on best safety practices in their respective areas. They discussed proactive measures and safe practices that are part of daily operations at the plant.
MS Kandari, Asst. Commandant, CISF-Fire, along with other senior officials of the station, graced the occasion with their presence. Various Heads of Departments also spoke on the need for a safety-first approach and the collective responsibility of all employees in promoting a safe work environment.
To further instill a culture of safety, a series of safety awareness competitions are planned for the workforce at NTPC Bongaigaon. These initiatives aim to encourage proactive safety measures and foster a deeper understanding of safety norms among employees.
The National Safety Day celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, CISF officials, and office bearers of Unions and Associations. The event was successfully coordinated by the Safety Department of NTPC Bongaigaon, reflecting the station’s unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence.
