The twin recognitions underscore NTPC Bongaigaon’s sustained commitment to community development and environmental stewardship in India’s North-Eastern region.

The CSR India Award recognises NTPC Bongaigaon’s impactful healthcare interventions in Tuensang district of Nagaland, one of the remotest and underserved regions in the country. The power major’s efforts include development of health infrastructure, supply of essential medical equipment, and implementation of outreach programs aimed at improving access to primary and preventive healthcare services for local communities.

Meanwhile, the Global Environment & Sustainability Award acknowledges the plant’s proactive environmental practices at its 750 MW power station. The unit has demonstrated responsible resource management, ecological conservation, and sustainable operational practices.

The awards were presented earlier this month at a ceremony held in New Delhi on June 12 and 14, and were received on behalf of NTPC Bongaigaon by Smriti Das, Executive (CSR, R&R, LA), and Sheeja Ambika Sasidharan, AGM (EMG).
