New Delhi: NTPC Kanti was among the first stations to start the GEM program pan NTPC. GEM (Girl Empowerment Mission) program aims to empower girls by providing them with education and skills necessary for their holistic development.
NTPC Kanti inaugurated the Girl Empowerment Campaign 2024 on Thursday. The program was inaugurated by Manoj Sinha, General Manager (Contracts and Materials & Technical Services). A total of 40 girls from various villages of Kanti Block are participating in the Girl Empowerment Campaign, representing 8 schools. This workshop, themed "Empowered Girls, Empowered Kanti", will run from April 25 to May 20, providing free education to students in subjects such as Mathematics, Computer, English, Hindi, etc. Additionally, all participants will also receive nutritious meals. Extracurricular activities such as yoga, dance, music, painting, etc., will be provided for the holistic development of girls.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Manoj Sinha stated NTPC Kanti is initiating the Girl Empowerment Campaign for 40 girls from surrounding villages, spanning the next four weeks. This comprehensive program will provide education beyond traditional textbooks, encompassing various elements crucial for their empowerment. Upholding NTPC Kanti's steadfast commitment to development, the safety and welfare of the participants are paramount. I extend sincere appreciation to the parents, teachers, and principals for their invaluable support in this endeavor."
Additionally, Maheshkumar Suthar, Additional General Manager (HR) of NTPC Kanti, said, "This campaign will bring about changes not only in the lives of girls but also in their families and the entire society. Thirty days later, when these girls leave from here, they will be filled with confidence."
Sanjeet Kumar, Deputy General Manager, and other senior officials were also present at the event.
