New Delhi: In a grand celebration marking the 50th Foundation Day of Coal India Limited (CIL), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to two crucial corporate initiatives. SECL has received the prestigious first prize in the Rehabilitation and Restoration category and secured the second prize for its Way-Bridge Automation initiative.
The award ceremony, which was held at Coal India’s headquarters in Kolkata on November 2, saw industry leaders and dignitaries gather to honor the achievements of Coal India and its subsidiaries. The Union Minister of Coal Kishan Reddy, attended the programme as Chief Guest alongside Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt and Coal India Chairman PM Prasad.
Representing SECL, Chairman and Managing Director Dr Prem Sagar Mishra received the awards on behalf of the company. Senior executives, including Headquarters and Regional General Managers and officers from SECL, were also present at the event.
The first prize for 'Rehabilitation and Restoration' category has been presented to SECL for its dedication to sustainable practices and its commitment to the communities it serves. The initiative focuses on restoring and revitalizing land in mining areas, supporting environmental sustainability, and improving the quality of life for local communities.
While second prize in the 'Way-Bridge Automation' category highlights SECL’s efforts in digital transformation and operational efficiency. The automation of way-bridges has streamlined processes, enhanced transparency, and improved accuracy in load management.
