Yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition from India that combines physical, mental and spiritual pursuits to achieve harmony of the body and mind. At the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the UN General Assembly on September 27, United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. It is believed that from 21st June, the sun starts its journey towards the south and heat starts to subside. Therefore, practicing yoga and spirituality on this day is beneficial for mind, body and soul.
