THDCIL marks 37th foundation day, reflects on legacy and future goals

New Delhi: THDC India Limited (THDCIL) celebrated its 37th Foundation Day, commemorating its long-standing contributions to India's energy sector. The event took place at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh and was also observed across all its projects and unit offices nationwide. Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) RK Vishnoi led the celebrations, including the flag-hoisting ceremony and addressing the employees and their families at Rasmanjari Hall, THDCIL, Rishikesh.

The festivities began with a lamp lighting ceremony conducted by RK Vishnoi along with Director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh, Director (Technical) Bhupender Gupta, and former CMD RK Sharma.

In his speech, Vishnoi reflected on THDCIL’s 37-year journey, highlighting the challenges and significant milestones since its establishment in 1988. He acknowledged the dedication and perseverance of the employees, crediting them for the company's success and growth. Vishnoi emphasized that Foundation Day is not only a moment of pride but also a time for reflection and realignment towards future goals and continuous improvements.

He noted that THDCIL’s success is a result of the collective efforts and commitment to excellence and integrity by its employees. Vishnoi reiterated the company’s vision of becoming a global energy organisation committed to India's net-zero aspirations through sustainable solutions.

A notable moment of the celebration was the honoring of former CMD RK Sharma with the “Naman Award” for his leadership and contributions to the organization. The event also featured awards for employees and their families for outstanding achievements, academic excellence, and various competition victories. Cultural performances added to the atmosphere.

The Foundation Day celebrations spanned ten days, starting from July 1 to July 10, under the theme “Jalsa: Pre-Foundation Day Fest.” The prelude included motivational sessions, culinary contests, sports events, talent shows, and the Mrs. THDC competition, fostering unity among employees and their families.

The celebration was live-streamed, allowing employees across different locations to join in. The day concluded with a vote of thanks from AGM (HR & A) Ishwar Dutt Tigga, who expressed gratitude for the collective efforts contributing to THDCIL’s ongoing success.
