With Jan 7 last date, only few hours left to apply for prestigious IIMCAA awards

New Delhi: The entries for the 9th edition of the IIMCAA Awards, organised by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) are closing soon. According to the official announcement on December 23, the last date to apply is January 7, 2025.

The awards include 12 categories, with nine offering cash prizes of up to INR 1.50 lakhs, along with trophies and certificates. The remaining three categories will award trophies and certificates.

Nitin Mantri, Convenor of IIMCAA Awards 2025, said, “As the convenor of the IIMCAA Awards, I am proud to witness how the alumni and others in the industry continue to shape the media landscape with integrity, creativity, and impact. These awards go beyond celebrating achievements; they recognise the diverse talent and groundbreaking contributions across the industry, creating a platform that inspires innovation and sets new standards of excellence.”

The IIMCAA awards will honor the professional work completed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. Applications are open to all, including non-IIMC alumni.

Simrat Gulati, President of IIMCAA, said, “The response to the awards after opening them to non-IIMCians in 2024 has been very encouraging. We are looking for greater participation this time.”

There are two major changes in this year’s award entry submission. These include submitting three entries instead of one, and a video essay in English or Hindi language with along with the applications. Sneha Bhattacharjee, Coordinator, IIMCAA Awards, said, “Each candidate must submit three sample entries and a video essay. Applicants are urged to read the rules and guidelines carefully before submitting their entries, as failing to adhere to guidelines will result in rejection of entries.”

The winners will be selected by a jury and announced during IIMCAA’s annual meet, ‘Connections,’ on February 23, 2025, in New Delhi.

• Journalist of the Year: Prize Money – INR 1,50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Agriculture Reporter of the Year: Prize Money – INR 1,00,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Reporter of the Year [Publishing]: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Reporter of the Year [Broadcast]: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Indian Language Reporter of the Year [Publishing]: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Indian Language Reporter of the Year [Broadcast]: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Producer of the Year [Broadcast]: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• PR Person of the Year: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• Ad Person of the Year: Prize Money – INR 50,000, Trophy and Certificate

• PR Agency of the Year: Trophy and Certificate

• Ad Agency of the Year: Trophy and Certificate

• Digital Agency of the Year: Trophy and Certificate
