New Delhi:  Here is big relaxation for those who could not succeed in online applying for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination 2020 till now. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has extended the last date for applying online by two days.

The candidates, who are applying for the GATE 2020, they don't have to pay any late fee for online applying till the September 26 as per IIT Delhi notification, displayed on the website. In the notification, IIT Delhi said, "Because of heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, the last date of application with normal fees has been extended up to 26th September." The Institute observed that due to heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, candidates are facing some issues so that institute extended the last date till the September 26, and by paying the late fee candidates can apply up to October 1. The examinations for the GATE 2020 will be conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9 in the different cities.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

GATE is an examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Government of India. GATE qualified candidates with the good all India ranks (AIR) have the highest chances to get jobs in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

GATE is basically an examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. GATE 2020 will be conducted for 25 subjects (also referred to as "papers") and it would be distributed over 1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th of February 2020. The GATE examination centres are spread in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT). The GATE score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate in a particular subject, which is quantified based on the several years of examination data. GATE 2020 score will be valid for the next three years from the date of announcement of the results.
