New Delhi: Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat lauded WAPCOS (Water and Power Consultancy Services Limited) on Wednesday for coming forward in a big way to take up challenging social issues. While noting that the public sector undertaking had indeed lived up to its motto ‘from conceptualisation to completion,’ Shekhawat said that the organisation had undertaken path-breaking developmental activities. Shekhawat was speaking as the chief guest as a ceremony held to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of WAPCOS.

Speaking on the occasion, WAPCOS CMD RK Gupta said that the PSU is a leading technology-driven consultancy and EPC organisation with a strong global presence in the fields of water, power and infrastructure sectors. WAPCOS has successfully completed/implemented on-going consultancy assignments in countries covering Asia, Africa, Middle East, South America and Pacific Island and is operating in more than 47 countries at present.

WAPCOS, which was incorporated as Public Sector Enterprise in 1969 by the government celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Wednesday at Siri Fort, New Delhi. In commemoration of this historic occasion, the company organised Golden Jubilee Celebrations on the theme, “Transcending Boundaries-Touching Lives.” Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Rattan Lal Kataria, was the guest of honour at the event.
