Govt appoints these two officers as Director in PMO

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved the appointment of these two officers as Directors in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO):

R Vyasan (IAS) has been appointed as Director in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on a lateral shift basis for a period upto August 23, 2023, i.e a total period of seven years away from the cadre, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.  Vyasan is a 2007-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Nagaland cadre. He is currently serving as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, under the Ministry of Finance.

Further, Surbhi Jain (IES) has also been appointed as Director in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). According to Personnel Ministry, she has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Jain is an Indian Economic Service (IES) officer of 2001-batch. She is currently serving as an Economic Adviser in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance.

In another order issued on the same date, the ACC has approved the extension in services of Rajiv Gauba (IAS) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of one year beyond August 30, 2021. Gauba is a 1982-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Jharkhand cadre. He has been serving as Cabinet Secretary since August 31, 2017.
