New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of V Ramakrishna Gupta for the post of Director (Finance) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatana PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). According to the Personnel Ministry order issued on Monday, Gupta has been appointed as Director (Finance) of BPCL for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

Gupta is currently serving as Chief General Manager in the same Maharatna PSU.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported when Gupta was recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of BPCL by the PESB panel on June 2. He was selected for the post from a list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of five candidates including Gupta, who were on the list, were from BPCL and one candidate was from NLC (India) Limited.

V Ramakrishna Gupta is a Chartered Accountant and a Cost Accountant. He has work experience of more than 20 years in Accounting and Financial Management at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL). He has held senior positions in BPCL and handled various areas of finance & commercials of retail, LPG, lubes business units. He is currently holding the post of General Manager (Corporate Finance) handling Management Accounts, Risk Management, and Budgeting at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mumbai.

As Director (Finance) of BPCL, Gupta will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be overall in charge of the finance and accounts of the organisation and will be responsible for evolving and formulating policies relating to finance and accounts as well as implementation.
