New Delhi: In view of the Coronavirus Pandemic and partial cancellation of 10+2 level examinations by various boards and authorities in the country, Ministry of Education has revised its norms for the admission process for B Arch degree course for the new academic session. The Ministry has taken this step upon the recommendations of the Council of Architecture, as a one-time measure. The information has been shared by the Ministry in a press release. Here is the list of new relaxation:-

  • No candidate shall be admitted to B.Arch. course unless she/he has passed in 10+2 scheme of examination with PCM subjects or pass in 10+3 Diploma with mathematics, as the case may be. 
  • The candidates who have qualified the aptitude test i.e. NATA or JEE, with pass percentage in 10+2 scheme of examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. course for the academic session 2020-2021.
  • The same has been published in the Official Gazette vide Notification No. F. No. CA/193/2020/MSAE(Regulations) on August 7, 2020.

Note:- The above relaxation shall be valid for the academic session 2020-2021 only, irrespective of the year in which a candidate has passed 10+2 or 10+3 examination. 
All institutions are required to adhere to the above eligibility criteria while granting admission into 1st year of 5-year B.Arch. degree course for the academic session 2020-2021.

Further, all candidates meeting the above eligibility criteria may also apply for registration for NATA 2020 on the NATA portal www.nata.in, which is open now for new registration. NATA 2020 shall be an online examination comprising Part-A Test (-Cognitive skills for Drawing and Visual Composition Test) & Part-B (Test on Scientific Ability & General Aptitude).

The First NATA Test shall be conducted on August 29, 2020, while the Second Test is tentatively scheduled during 2nd or 3rd week of September. The candidates (new as well as already registered) are required to confirm their venue of examination as either home or nearest Test Centre as per their convenience. The last date for Registration for NATA 2020 Examination has also been extended up to 16.08.2020, 11.59 pm.
