New Delhi: Former General Manager (PR) of Airports Authority of India (AAI) Gurmukh Singh Bawa has been presented 'Life Time Achievement Award' for his immense contribution in the field of Public Relations. This award has been bestowed upon him in a Media Excellence Award function organised by the Media Federation of India at New Delhi on April 4. The function was attended by PR and Media Professionals, Media educators and Journalists. Veteran Media Educator, founder of Noida Film City and President of Asian Academy of Film & Television Sandeep Marwah, Arun Sharma, National President, Media Federation of India, Om Prakash, Former GM (PR), Power Finance Corporation and senior Journalist Shiv Bhatia were present in the function.
Bawa is known face of the Corporate Communication circle of the country. He superannuated from AAI, as General Manager (PR) in the year 2016 and now actively associated with promoting the cause of PR, Corporate Communication and Corporate affairs functions at the various effective fora. He contributed towards setting benchmarks of PR within his domain while in service and now is contributing a lot for setting the standard for the profession and new talents in the Media and Awareness initiatives and programs through various professional bodies named Public Relations Society of India's, FAST (Foundation for Aviation and Sustainable Tourism) Air Traveller's Association of India and others such instep. He loves sharing his experiences and learning's to new buddies of the profession for the benefit of society at large and PR Profession in particular through developing effective training modules and other such tools.
Bawa a globally renowned speaker and a former senior executive from the aviation industry having over 30 years of working experience in airport planning, administration and management and he believes that sharing is another style of learning. He believes that while sharing enables emptying the Cup and Learning enables him to meet the future challenges in a more sustainable manner.
Bawa having to his credit introduction and effective implementation and operation of an innovative Revenue Model in PR functions in Public Sector Organization, which is not only unique rather a trendsetter. Bawa is always ready to share all-encompassing business tools at his disposal and over a period of time, his public speaking has rippled a new wave of enthusiasm amongst the business thinker and aviation professionals and experts.
During his tenure with AAI and Senior Management Groups, Bawa contributed extensively towards businesses and administrative reforms and also participated in the High-Level Meetings on Management with the Government, Parliament Committees, National and International Committees including representing India at ICAO Meetings, an UN Body, and at other professional platforms and trade organizations and public shows.
Over the course of four decades of his widespread career, his activities included setting up statistical systems, MIS, computerization, Designing & Conducting Passenger Opinion Surveys, O&D Surveys, OR Surveys. On the international front, the image building of the organization was bestowed upon him during his tenure as Head of the PR Department and he is known for his effective delivery.
