HIL CMD Dr SP Mohanty receives Rajbasha Kirti Puraskar

New Delhi: State-run HIL India Limited Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr SP Mohanty received the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar on Hindi Diwas 2019 for outstanding implementation of the government's official language policy. The award was handed over to Mohanty by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.

HIL India Limited secured the third position in the public sector category where 243 public sector undertakings (PSUs) were in the fray. "Under the Chairmanship of Dr Mohanty, HIL India Limited has been awarded with several prestigious awards by renowned institutions like Bureaucracy Today (CSR Excellence Award), Times Ascent (Innovative HR practices), The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) etc," an official release said.

HIL, formerly known as Hindustan Insecticides Limited (HIL), a PSU under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, was incorporated in March 1954 with the objective of supplying DDT for National Malaria Eradication Programme launched by the government. Subsequently, the company diversified into agro pesticides to meet the requirements of agriculture sector and has grown manifold. Presently the company is also operating in agro inputs namely agro-chemicals, seeds and recently it ventured into fertilizers so that all the requirement of farming community can be met under one roof.
