HIL CMD Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty set to be next CMD of BVFCL

New Delhi: Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel, the public sector head hunter body, on Monday. He is currently serving as CMD of HIL (India) Limited.

Dr Mohanty was the only candidate who was interviewed by the selection panel and recommended for the post of CMD of BVFCL.

Dr Mohanty has done his Masters in Business Management from Berhampur University, Odisha. He completed his Executive Development Programme from IIM Lucknow and Advanced Management Programme from IIM, Kolkatta. He comes with more than 26 years of rich and diverse experience primarily in the Marketing of Agri Inputs. He has also worked in M/s Rashtriya Chemical & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), Mumbai, in different capacities from 1989 to 2015.

Mohanty is a recipient of the "Marketing Man of the Year" award in 1995 and the "Best Employee" Award in 2012 at RCF. Under the Chairmanship of Dr Mohanty, Hindustan Insecticides Limited was awarded with several prestigious awards by renowned institutions like Bureaucracy Today (CSR Excellence Award), Times Ascent (Innovative HR practices), The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) etc.

The Namrup Fertilizer Complex was renamed as Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) after bi-furcation from Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL) from April 1, 2002. It is located on the bank of the Dilli river in the south-western border of Dibrugarh district in Assam. It is the first fertilizer factory in India that uses natural gas as basic raw material for producing nitrogenous fertilizer. BVFCL is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Fertilizers, with 100 percent shareholding of the government of India.
