Hira Ballabh appointed as Director (Finance) of DFCCIL

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for the appointment of Hira Ballabh (IRAS) as Director (Finance) of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Ballabh has been appointed on the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or up to the date of superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently working as Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer in the Northern Railway.

Education & background

Ballabh had completed his graduation in Arts (BA) and BA Honours from DSB college of Nainital. He had completed his Masters in Arts (MA) and M Phil from JNU, New Delhi. He also completed a course on Financial Management and an MBA (Finance) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2010.

Hira Ballabh is an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer of 1992-batch. He has vast experience in the field of sports and had served as Secretary of Sports Authority of India.

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) corporation run by the government under the Ministry of Railways to undertake planning, development, and mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the dedicated freight corridors. The DFCCIL was registered as a company under the companies act 1956 in 2006.
