HPCL appoints 4 Independent Directors on its Board

New Delhi: The Maharatna oil PSU, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Wednesday announced the appointment of four Independent Directors on its Board. According to HPCL, Vimla Pradhan, Vivekanand Biswal, Bechan Lal and Ramdarshan Singh Pal have been appointed as Independent Directors on the Board of the HPCL with effect from November 16, for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This information has been shared by the Maharatna PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Wednesday. 

Brief profile of Independent Directors:

1. Vimla Pradhan is a Graduate and hails from the Jharkhand state. She is a social worker and has held various posts as Member/President of Committee of Government of Jharkhand Ministry.

2. Vivekanand Biswal hails from the Odisha state and is a Post Graduate in Commerce and a Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He is on the board of many other companies.

3. Bechan Lal (Ph D), is a Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu. He is co-author of many books and is a recipient of many awards and recognitions. He is also holding Membership and also an Office-Bearer of many scientific societies.

4. Ramdarshan Singh Pal is a post-graduate in Arts, LLB and is a practising Advocate in the area of A.D.G.C. (Criminal) in Mainpuri Civil Court, Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh.

As of November 17, there are a total of four Functional Directors, one Part-Time Director and four Independent Directors on the board of HPCL.
