HPCL nominates its Director (Refineries) S Bharathan to MRPL board

HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd) has nominated its Director (Refineries) S Bharathan as Director on the board of MRPL, a BSE filing said

New Delhi: State-run HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd) has nominated its Director (Refineries) S Bharathan as Director on the board of MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd), a BSE filing said on Tuesday. “Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has nominated Shri. S Bharathan, Director (Refineries) (DIN: 09561481), HPCL as Director on the Board of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited,” said the filing.

The appointment of Bharathan as Director on the Board has been approved by the Board of
MRPL on October 4 through circular resolution. He is not related to any Director
of the Company, said HPCL.

Bharathan is eligible for appointment as Director in terms of provisions of Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.

S Bharathan, Director (Refineries), HPCL, has wide exposure to the Refinery operations of HPCL and has worked in Operations and Technical Departments of Mumbai and Visakh Refinery for over 25 years. He has also worked in the Corporate Office on Margin Management & Refinery Project Process for over 4 years. Further, he is also leading HPCL’s Green R&D Centre in Bengaluru for the last three years. Under him, HPCL Green Research & Development Centre (HPGRDC) has attained the filing of about 380 patents. He was Executive Director (Refineries Coordination) of HPCL and had held additional charge of R&D.
