Suresh N Borkar takes over as ED (Vigilance) of AAI

Suresh N Borkar, who was serving as General Manager, has taken over charge as Executive Director (Vigilance) of Airport Authority of India (AAI)
New Delhi: Suresh N Borkar has taken over as Executive Director (Vigilance) of Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on December 20 at Corporate headquarters New Delhi. Prior to this promotion, he was serving as General Manager (Vigilance) in the same organisation.

Education & background

Suresh N Borkar Joined AAI in May 1990 as Electronics officer and served at various airports at various levels in CNS discipline, as Airport Director, and General Manager- Information Technology. He holds a masters degree in Engineering in the branch of Electronics and Communication. He also holds I.A.P. degree from ACI/ICAO, Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP). He has attended the various training programme, workshop, seminars in India and abroad as well as acquired at the relevant Proficiency and ratings on the CNS facilities. During his tenure as Airport Director, he has achieved consecutive three times 'Best Airport Award' (ASQ/CSI Survey) for the year 2012, 2013 for Jodhpur Airport and in the year 2014 for Jaipur Airport.

Airports Authority of India (AAI)

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India. AAI manages 125 airports, which include 18 international airports, seven customs airports, 78 domestic airports and 26 civil enclaves at defence airfields.
