IAS Appointments: ACC clears appointment of a number of bureaucrats

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the appointments of as many as eight bureaucrats on Tuesday. Here is the full list:-

S Kishore (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post and keeping the recruitment rules of the post in abeyance. Kishore is a 1989-batch IAS officer of West Bengal. He is currently posted as Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

Sanjay Malhotra (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. Malhotra is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre. He is currently serving as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited, a PSU under the Ministry Power.

Alkesh Kumar Sharma (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat. Sharma is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre. He is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Manoj Ahuja (IAS) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Ahuja is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He is currently posted as Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the Ministry of Education. He will take over as Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare upon the superannuation of Sanjay Agarawal (IAS) on March 31, 2022.

Arti Ahuja (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Ahuja is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. She is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

P Daniel (IDES) has been appointed as Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. Daniel is an Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES) of 1989-batch. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

The ACC has also approved in-situ up-gradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them:

Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia (IAS) has been appointed as Director-General in the Employees' State Insurance Corporation under the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Bhatia is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre.

Meeta R Lochan (IAS) has been appointed as Member Secretary of National Commission for Women under the Ministry of Women and Child Development in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
