New Delhi: Indian Oil and Google Pay have announced a collaboration to make fuelling more rewarding for Indian Oil and Google Pay customers. For fuel purchases made via Google Pay app at over 30,000 Indian Oil petrol pumps spread across the country, customers can now earn up to Rs 500 as cashback, subject to terms and conditions.
The companies also plan to make Indian Oil's countrywide loyalty program XTRAREWARDS accessible on the Google Pay app as the partnership progresses. Indian Oil and Google Pay customers can earn and redeem XTRAREWARDS loyalty points via Google Pay app. This facility will substantially enhance the user experience for discerning customers of Indian Oil and users of Google Pay. Google Pay users can sign up for Indian Oil's XTRAREWARDS loyalty program membership or link an existing membership with their Google Pay account.
Elaborating on this customer convenience initiative, Indian Oil's Chairman SM Vaidya said, "I am glad that Indian Oil, a brand synonymous with retail fueling in India, is collaborating with Google, the definitive name in digital space. At Indian Oil, we are committed to providing cutting edge digital experience to our customers at all times. And, I am confident that this joint effort will not only add to customer delight but would also contribute towards our progress towards a Digital India."
Speaking of Indian Oil's loyalty program, Vaidya added, "XTRAREWARDS has proved to be a huge hit with all our customers, and the facility to earn and redeem loyalty points directly via Google Pay will add to its convenience and enhance its popularity".
Google APAC's Business Head (NBU and Payments) Sajith Sivanandan while speaking on the collaboration, said, 'We are very pleased to collaborate with IndianOil to bring convenience and savings to millions of IndianOil customers across the country. As we bring the XTRAREWARDS loyalty program onto the Google Pay app in the coming months, commuters will also be able to seamlessly earn and redeem loyalty points at any IndianOil petrol pump with the same and reliable convenience of UPI's real-time payments with just a few taps. We hope the customers will like the convenience and the extra savings with this new experience.
