Indian Oil bags ‘Asian Oil and Gas Award’ in 2 categories

New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indian Oil) has bagged the prestigious Asian Power's Asian Oil & Gas Awards in two major categories of 'COVID Management Initiative of the Year' and 'New Product of the Year' in India. Singapore based quarterly publication Asian Power has instituted the award to acknowledge companies that play an influential role in transforming Asia's oil and gas industry. The coveted award under the 'COVID Management Initiative of the Year' recognises Indian Oil's unrelenting social endeavours amidst the pandemic.

The social outreaches included the diversion of high-purity oxygen used in Indian Oil's Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex to shore up medical oxygen supplies in India and beyond. Other welfare measures of Indian Oil, including the rollout of Sanjeevani Express to strengthen LMO logistics and vaccination drives for stakeholders, were also appreciated. Asian Oil and Gas Award for 'New Product of the Year' was bestowed on Indian Oil for launching India's first 100 Octane and best-in-class premium fuel XP100. XP100 caters to the niche market for luxury vehicles that demand high performance and such fuel is presently available only in six other countries (USA, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel, and Greece).

Indian Oil's Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya accepted the awards on behalf of the company. Speaking on the recognition, Vaidya said, "It is heartening to note that our initiatives are being acknowledged across the continent. For the past two years, the entire world has been grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic and inspired by the mantra of "Pehle Indian Phir Oil", Indian Oil has left no stone unturned to support common people. As far as XP100 is concerned, this fuel has turned out to be a game-changer. But this is just the beginning, and Indian Oil will continue to explore new horizons of innovative excellence to offer greater customer delight across product segments."

Asian Power recently declared the Asian Oil & Gas Award winners to celebrate the innovations in the energy sector and the entries were scrutinised by an esteemed panel of judges. Commenting on Award winners, Asian Power magazine mentioned, "Despite the challenging environment in recent years, the award-winning companies have remained steadfast to their purpose and have risen above the hurdles". The Journal added, "Indian Oil's XP 100 is the highest premium fuel that keeps cars and bikes engines healthy, minimises knocking, and gives cars a higher mileage. Also, it's environmentally friendly in nature. It keeps the air clean with reduced carbon emissions. This Indian Oil innovation is indeed a testimony to the country's technological prowess, and manufacturing it within their refineries is the best example of Aatmanirbhar Bharat."
