New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOCL) Chairman Sanjiv Singh inaugurated the 'Security Week' at IOCL's corporate office in New Delhi on Friday, in the presence of IOCL's Director (Planning & Business Development) GK Satish, Director (HR) Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (Marketing) Gurmeet Singh, Director (Pipelines) Akshay Kumar Singh and Security Advisor BK Ravi.

IOCL locations across the country shall be observing 'Security Week' from December 13, based on the theme 'Security for Business Continuity' to pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the attack on Indian Parliament on December 13, 2001.

During the inaugural security week programme held at IOCL's corporate office in New Delhi, the employees were sensitised towards security preparedness and special posters, e-magazine and film were released to generate awareness on the importance of security.

Keeping in view the size and reach of our organisation, it is essential that we remain alert and updated on our security systems at all times. Safety is a continuous effort; awareness of it just the start point and we all must take equal responsibility to make the country safe and secure: Sanjiv Singh

Speaking on the occasion BK Ravi said that "All of us at Indian Oil should be proactive and pre-emptive in ensuring safety and security of our valuable assets. An important aspect of ensuring our safety is carrying out mock drills frequently and diligently so that in case of an emergency, mishaps and casualties can be avoided." IOCL's Chairman also felicitated the personnel of the Territorial Army for their duties rendered in the service of the nation during the programme.
