New Delhi: Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, on Tuesday announced that it has completed 100 km track linking out of 372 km stretch entrusted to it by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) between Vaitarna-Sachin sections. The track linking work has been done using the imported new Track Construction machine by IRCON. "It has been possible by the dedicated team of IRCON despite the lockdown due to COVID-19 and insufficient resources," the Railway PSU informed in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Tuesday.

IRCON is the first PSU, which owns the NTC machine, which was imported by IRCON from the USA for the purpose of this project. "IRCON's entire team is showing an unparalleled zeal to complete the project despite the prevailing situation of Covid-19," IRCON mentioned in the filing.

"Last month, IRCON has completed the highly ambitious task of installation & completion of precast double-shell box with a segment size of 16 x 10 m at Valsad, South Gujarat in a record time of 20 days power block. This has been appreciated by all corners. IRCON is fully committed to complete the DFC project entrusted to them by leaving no stone unturned in completing the project as per Railway Ministry target," it added.

IRCON also completed the commissioning of a 74 km section from Kharsia to Dharam Jayagarh on June 21 through its SPV – Chhattisgarh East Rail Limited (CERL). Thus, CERL is the only SPV to commission a section of the railway line through PPP mode.
