IREDA is committed to transition of those which are in unorgainsed segments of RE to organised sector: CMD

New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited's (IREDA) Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Pradip Kumar Das on Monday reaffirmed IREDA's commitment to the transition of those which are in the unorgainsed segments of renewable energy (RE) to organised sector. He was speaking at the "MAHAPRIET Green Fund Investor Meet 2022" in Mumbai.

IREDA CMD emphasised that IREDA is looking forward to strengthening the participation of MSMEs, start-ups, and transition of those which are in the unorgainsed segments of RE to the organised sector. This will enable the financial inclusion of a weaker section of society. As the largest lender to the RE sector in the country, IREDA is making every effort to accommodate the sector's finance needs.

IREDA's CMD also highlighted that as a pioneer in the Indian RE industry, IREDA has introduced a comprehensive policy for financing new technologies to promote usage/ penetration of renewable energy viz. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and manufacturing of batteries, production of Green Hydrogen (Electrolysers), Electric Mobility Segment, Waste Recycling units. etc. He further added that in accordance with the proposed National Hydrogen Energy Mission and the Govt. of India's goal for the use of hydrogen energy, IREDA is prepared to promote sustainable energy solutions.
