CSL Recruitment: Shipping PSU Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has invited job applications for the engagement of Director (Operations). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before October 25. The post will fall vacant on June 1, 2025. Presently, Sreejith K Narayanan is serving as Director (Operations) in the organisation.
Director (Operations) is a member of Board of Directors and reports to Chairman and Managing Director and will be in charge of the Shipbuilding division of the Company. In this role, He/She will be responsible for furthering the Shipbuilding business and oversee Design and Engineering, Material procurement, planning and Ship construction activities covering fabrication, outfitting, tests & commissioning, trials leading to delivery of ships meeting contractual time, cost and scope/quality requirements.
He/She will be responsible for large industrial workforce involved with ship production activities and will be required to ensure adherence to HSE norms and statutory provisions. He/She is expected to be instrumental for maintaining cordial industrial relations and motivation of a productive workforce within the division.
Pay scale: Rs 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA)
Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 45 years and the age of superannuation is 60 years
The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of vacancy.
Employment Status
The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:
(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government Group 'A' Officers including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services and officers from Public Sector Banks or Financial Institutions or Autonomous Bodies, etc;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 2,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 2,000 crore or more.
Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.
(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)
Educational Qualifications
Applicant should be an Engineering Graduate with good academic track record, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical or Marine or Naval Architecture discipline from a recognised university or institution.
Work Experience
The applicant should possess cumulative experience/ exposure for at least 5 years during the last 10 years in PSU or Private Shipyard or Indian Navy in Ship Building (Production, Planning) or Ship Design or Overseeing of Ship Construction or Ship Repair or Business Development or Maintenance at Naval Headquarters (DFM) or Naval Dockyards or Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY).
Duration of the appointment
The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
