Know what IOC is doing to keep Odisha, West Bengal afloat during Cyclone Fani

New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) promised an uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel, LPG and jet fuel to Odisha and West Bengal as the states faced Cyclone Fani on Friday. A statement released by the company said, "In the wake of the cyclone Fani making landfall in Odisha earlier today (Friday), IOC is fully geared up and ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply from its locations in Odisha and West Bengal on the east coast."

IOC says adequate stock to deal with Fani

"Adequate stock of petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, LPG, kerosene and aviation fuel is available. The Corporation is also actively assisting the district administration in evacuation, rescue and relief activities," IOC said.

'Operations not impacted in Odisha, West Bengal'

The oil PSU also said that its operations continue to be largely normal across the two eastern states and it continues to supply fuel. It said that it is operating its 15 million tonnes per annum capacity refinery on Paradip coast. The IOC refinery in the area is capable of withstanding cyclones with a speed of more than 200 kilometres per hour.
