Kumar Ravikant Singh (IAS) appointed as Deputy Secretary in DFS

New Delhi (Bureaucracy Watch): Kumar Ravikant Singh (IAS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Singh has been selected for the appointment to the post for a period up to June 1, 2023, with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently he was on 'compulsory wait' in the Department of Personnel & Training.

"He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Department of Financial Services," the order further read.

Singh is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Previously he has held as Private Secretary to Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti in the Rural Development Department.

Department of Financial Services

Department of Financial Services is a government department under the Ministry of Finance. The mandate of the Department covers the functioning of banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and the national pension system. The Department is headed by the Secretary (FS) who is assisted by three Additional Secretary (AS), seven Joint Secretaries (JS), one Economic Advisers (EA) and a Deputy Director General (DDG).
