Bengaluru: National Aerolympics that was started way back in 2011 seeing the aviation field expanding exponentially throughout the globe has become quite profound in size.  More than 600 schools had been approached with all details for the National Aerolympics 2020 and 22 Teams from 11 states have been selected based on their detailed reports on the subject Regional Transport Aircraft submitted by them. They all are competing to prove their mettle in Bangalore in the National Aerolympics 2020 scheduled on January 19, 20, 21 and 22, four days.

National Aerolympics 2020 to create awareness about India's Aviation Programme among students and enable them to collect, collate sift and arrange the information.  Also, motivate participants to join the aviation industry as Engineers, Scientists and Designers. All the participants will be given a memento and winners will be given prizes and the winning team will be taken to Aero India 2021 International Air show.

The theme project for all eight events is Helicopters. There will be team events, individual events and group events. The teams will be making a report in phase-1, in Phase-2 Industry visit & Bangalore visit has been planned for the participants. Then the following events will be technical Quiz, awareness quiz, cultural event, presentation and viva, surprise Event and finally collage Making.

There is a distinguished panel of judges and each event will be evaluated by a panel of three judges who are experts in their respective areas.

GVS Bhaskar, Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), will be the Chief Guest for the inaugural function while Dr R K Tyagi, President AeSI& former Chairman, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. will be the Chief Guest for the valedictory function scheduled for January 22, 2020. Alok Verma, Director, HR, HAL will be the guest of honour.
