New Delhi: Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL) and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) have signed an MoU for the distribution of aids and assistive devices to divyangjan. These devices, valuing approx Rs 2 crores, will be distributed at Jhajjar and Charkhi Dadri districts of Haryana under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of APCPL. The MoU was signed in the presence of ALIMCO CMD DR Sarin and APCPL CEO Krishna Moorty G in New Delhi on October 4. "During the MoU signing ceremony, DR Sarin presented a jute bag and a plant to Krishna Moorty as a green gesture," a press release from APCPL and ALIMCO said.

Distribution camps will be organised soon

As per the MoU signed between APCPL and ALIMCO, distribution camps will be organised at Jhajjar and Charkhi Dadri district. In the distribution camps, artificial limbs, aids and appliances such as motorised tricycles, tricycle, wheelchairs, BTE hearing aids, crutch axilla adjustable, braille cane, MSIED kit, braille kit, smart cane, smartphones etc will be distributed to persons with disabilities.

APCPL and ALIMCO had already distributed aids and appliances valuing Rs 3 crores to divyangjan last year at Jhajjar and Rewari districts (Haryana). Now they have signed an MoU for Charkhi Dadri district.

Aravali Power Company Private Limited

Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL) is a joint venture company with 50 percent share of NTPC Limited, 25 percent of Haryana Power Generation Company Ltd (HPGCL, Haryana state company), and 25 percent of Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd (IPGCL, a Delhi state company). APCPL has constructed a coal-based power plant near village Jharli, district- Jhajjar (Haryana) named Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project (IGSTPP). Presently under stage-I, the power plant of 3x 500 MW (1500 MW) capacity is constructed, whose all 3 units are commissioned.

Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India

ALIMCO is a not for profit central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and has been manufacturing various types of aids and appliances on a mass scale to meet the requirements of persons with disabilities (PwDs) across the country.
