Bangalore: Maharatana PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BHEL), under the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, have jointly organised a camp for "free of cost" distribution of aids and assistive devices for disables.

The camp was organised under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of BHEL in Bangalore on Friday. Executive Director of BHEL- Industrial Systems Group (ISG), Shakil Kumar Manocha, chief guest and BHEL-IGS's Deputy General Manager J Ambrosh, district disabled welfare officer, Bangalore (Urban) Umesh MC, ALIMCO Banhalore's senior manager and unit head Anupam Prakash, ALIMCO Bangalore's Assistant Manager A Sivakumar and Puja Guleria along with the other dignitaries and officials of district administration, BHEL-ISG & ALIMCO were present during the event.

A total of 51 pre-identified beneficiaries under CSR initiative of Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL-IRS) and 'Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase' (ADIP) scheme for the worth value of Rs 4 lakhs, aids and assistive devices have been distributed in the camp for a different kind of disabilities. The motive of organising such camps is to provide direct benefit and utilizing CSR funds and government scheme in a transparent. These camps also organised to generate awareness about the various other programs and initiative for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) across the nation.
