SP Bansal appointed as Director (Civil) of SJVN Ltd.

SP Bansal has previously served as the CMD of Hindustan Salts Limited (HSL) and has also worked with SJVN Limited as Additional General Manager prior to his HSL appointment

New Delhi: State-owned hydropower firm Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN Limited) said that it has appointed SP Bansal as the new Director (Civil) of the company. Bansal has been picked by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) and will succeed Kanwar Singh who superannuated on March 31. He has previously served as the Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Salts Limited (HSL) and has also worked with SJVN Limited as Additional General Manager prior to his HSL appointment.

SP Bansal has a B-Tech Civil degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He started his career in 1987 with Punjab State Electricity Board and has also taught at REC, Kurukshetra. He had joined SJVN Limited in 1993 as a Civil Engineer and worked in various departments and projects and had also served as Additional General Manager.

SJVN Limited

SJVN Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of Ministry of Power, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture of the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is now a listed company having shareholders pattern of 61.93 percent with government 26.85 percent with the government of Himachal Pradesh and rest of 11.22 percent with Public, according to the company's website.
