New Delhi: Mahmood Ahmed has been appointed as Director on the Board of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), a debt-ridden PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) which has been merged with BSNL. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Deputy Director General (LFA) in DoT. Ahmed has been appointed as Government Nominee Director on MTNL board with immediate effect, said an order from DoT.
According to the official order, Ahmed has been appointed for a three-year period or till the period of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
