New Delhi: Malladi Venkat Murali Krishna has assumed charge on Thursday as Executive Director (ED) on the board of the Central Bank of India, said the bank in a BSE filing. "The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has vide its Notification No eF no 4/6/2021-80.I dated November 21 appointed Malladi Venkat Murali Krishna, Chief General Manager, Bank of Baroda, as Executive Director on the Board of the Bank, for a period of three years, with effect from the date of assumption of office on or after December 1 or until further orders, whichever is earlier," said a BSE filing.

Before his elevation to this current position, he was the Chief General Manager of Bank of Baroda. His last posting in Bank of Baroda was as Head of Corporate & Institutional Credit -Large Corporate, the BSE filing noted.

Krishna pursued MBA in Banking and Finance and began his career with Bank of Baroda as Probationary Officer and has over three decades of professional banking experience in leadership roles. His expertise extends to all major areas of banking, including corporate credit, international operations, rural and agriculture banking, financial inclusion, NRI business etc, it added.

During his long stint in the banking industry, he worked from branches to regional offices
and from overseas territory to corporate office. He successfully handled the responsibilities
such as Head of Large Corporate, Head of International Operations, Head of Rural &
Agriculture Department and Head of Financial Inclusion Department. He also held charge as a Director on the Board of BOB Capital Finance Ltd, Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank and AFC Ltd (Agriculture Finance Corporation), it added.
