New Delhi: P Udayakumar has assumed an additional charge of CMD of the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC) on Tuesday. He is currently engaged with the NSIC as Director (Planning & Mktg). Udaykumar is a Mechanical engineer from the College of Engineering, Guindy. He has done his post-graduation from IIM Bangalore with 12 years of Board experience.

P Udayakumar is an expert in MSME domain. He has been part of many initiatives of the Ministry of MSME and NSIC's growth story for over 12 years. He is also an Investment Committee member of the PE growth fund namely the SRI Fund, the Fund of the Ministry of MSME. He will also be Chairman of NSIC Venture capital fund Ltd. He writes on MSME development issues.

Before joining NSIC in November 2010, Udaykumar served in Chennai Petroleum Corp. Ltd (Indian Oil) for 21 years. "There I had the privilege of heading the Marketing Dept and launching petroleum speciality products which are still commanding market leadership in Southern India", he said on LinkedIn.
