New Delhi: Shyamal Misra has been appointed as a government nominee director on the Board of MMTC Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce. The appointment of Misra was confirmed by the Board of Directors of MMTC at a meeting held recently. Misra has been appointed on the board of MMTC with effect from the date of the assumption of the charge of the post, i.e. February 24. The information was shared by MMTC in a regularity filing to the stock exchanges on Tuesday.

Misra is a 1996 batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of Haryana-cadre. He is currently working as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He has held various important positions in the state government and the Central government.
