New Delhi: Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN, informed that SJVN has obtained 105 MW floating solar project through an e-reverse auction conducted by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO), said the Miniratna PSU in an official statement. Sharma stated that SJVN has bagged 105 MW Floating Solar Project @Rs 3.93 per unit on Build-Own-and-Operate (BOO) basis in a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by MAHAGENCO.

SJVN to develop 105 MW Floating Solar Project at cost of Rs 730 cr

Sharma said that the tentative cost for the development of this project will be Rs 730 crore. The project will be commissioned within 15 months from the date of signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which shall be signed between SJVN and MAHAGENCO shortly.

The SJVN CMD said, "After commissioning, the project will generate 230 Million Units in the first year and 5,420 Million Units over a period of 25 years. The commissioning of this project is expected to reduce 2,65,602 tonnes of carbon emission. SJVN is actively contributing to the efforts of the government of achieving net zero carbon emission by 2070."

He added that SJVN is on a rapid expansion and capacity addition journey. "The present portfolio of the company is more than 42,000 MW and the company is marching forward tirelessly to achieve its Shared Vision of 5,000 MW by 2023, 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW installed capacity by 2040," said Sharma.
