Lokpal’s website Launched But You Can’t Complaint Online Now

The website says that the form for filing complaint has not yet been notified, though Lokpal decided to scrutinise all the complaints received in the office of Lokpal till 16 April 2019, in whatever form they were sent and dispose of accordingly

New Delhi: The Website of the Lokpal inaugurated by the Chairperson, Justice Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose in presence of all the Members of Lokpal Thursday. The Website has been developed by NIC and for now, it only provides basic information with respect to the working and functioning of the Lokpal. If you wish to make an online complaint, the website doesn't have any form ready for that yet.  Neeta Verma, DG, NIC was also present on the occasion. The Website can be accessed Here

Jurisdiction of Lokpal: PM to Peon

The first institution of its kind institution in independent India, Lokpal has been established under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. Lokpal will inquire and investigate into allegations of the corruption against public functionaries who fall within the scope and ambit of the above Act. The Lokpal has jurisdiction to inquire into allegations of corruption against anyone who is or has been Prime Minister, or a Minister in the Union government, or a Member of Parliament, as well as officials of the Union Government under Groups A, B, C and D. Also covered are chairpersons,members, officers and directors of any board, corporation, society, trust or autonomous body either established by an Act of Parliament or wholly or partly funded by the Union or State government. It also covers any society or trust or body that receives foreign contribution above Rs.10 lakh

Lokpal office temporarily functioning from Hotel Ashok

The Government appointed Justice Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose, as the first Chairperson of the Lokpal who was administered the oath on March 23, 2019, by the President of India. The Government has also appointed four Judicial and four non-Judicial Members. The office of Lokpal is temporary functioning from the Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

The process of notifying the rules and regulations including the format for receiving complaints is being developed. All complaints which were received till April 16, 2019, have been examined by the Office of Lokpal and disposed of accordingly.

The Complaints received thereafter are under examination.
