New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited's (SECL) Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Budhi Prakash Sharma (ITS), who is also holding additional charge as CVO of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), has been given a tenure extension on his additional charge for a period of about two years. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for an extension of the additional charge of the post of CVO in MCL. His services as CVO of MCL have been extended beyond August 28, 2020, for a period co-terminus with his deputation tenure as CVO of SECL, i.e. up-to September 3, 2022, or till the appointment of a regular CVO in MCL or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Sharma is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of the 1999 batch. Presently he is serving as the CVO of Bilaspur (CG)-based subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). Earlier, he was also holding the additional charge as CVO of WCL. Sharma acquired his degree in Electronics & Telecom Engineering from Govt. Engineering College Kota in the year 1998.
Prior to his present assignment as CVO SECL, he has served in various capacities with DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization and DoT (Department of Telecom) between 1999 to 2017. During his tenure in the above organisations he is widely regarded for his knowledge, skill and valuable contribution towards coordinated abilities in the areas of Telecom Infrastructure, Switching, Telecom-Monitoring and Vigilance wing of DoT which further added value to the functional areas of those organisation.
