MECON posts job vacancy for Director (Projects); apply before April 26

MECON Recruitment 2022: Miniratna Steel PSU, MECON Limited has posted a job vacancy for the engagement of Director (Projects). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before April 26. The post will fall vacant on November 1. Salil Kumar is the current Director (Projects) of MECON Limited.

Director (Projects) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He/She is responsible for ensuring timely construction, erection, commissioning and completion of all projects under the corporation as per the desired quality and cost framework through the effective project management system.

Pay scale: Rs 75,000 – Rs 1,00,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 2000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 2000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Educational qualifications

The applicant should be an engineering graduate with a good academic record from a recognised university or institution.

Applicants holding MBA or post-graduate diploma in management will have an added advantage.

Work experience

The applicant should have cumulative experience or exposure of at least five years during the last 10 years at a senior level of management in project planning & management or design & consultancy in areas like coal and coke or chemicals or metals or non-metals or mining or power or oil and gas or infrastructure in an organisation of repute.

Note (i) Applicants from central government or all India services should be holding a post of the level of joint secretary in the government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the armed forces of the union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises or Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
