MOIL CMD MP Chaudhari gets tenure extension

New Delhi: MOIL Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) MP Chaudhari has been given a tenure extension on his role till the date of his superannuation. According to an order issued from the Ministry of Steel on November 29, the services of Chaudhari as CMD of MOIL Limited have been extended beyond August 31, 2021, till September 31, 2022, i.e. the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This information has been shared by the Steel PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Government had appointed him as CMD of MOIL Limited for a period of five years with effect from September 1, 2016.

Chaudhari is a Chartered Accountant by qualification. He started his career with Bajaj Steel Industries Limited and has worked in other private sector companies before joining MOIL in December 1997 as Manager (Finance). Chaudhari has more than 34 years of experience in the field of finance, accounts taxation, etc. besides skills in management and administration. He has been honoured with the 'Leader of the Year' Award in the Miniratna category for taking MOIL to new heights of success in 2018-19 in the 7th edition of PSU Awards.

MOIL is a Miniratna state-owned manganese ore mining company headquartered in Nagpur. With a market share of 50 percent, it is the largest producer of manganese ore in India. MOIL operates 11 mines in adjoining districts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It has been ranked #486 among the top 500 companies in India and ninth in the Mines and Metals Sector of the Fortune India 500 list for 2011.
