MOIL gets its 1st woman CMD as Director (HR) Usha Singh takes additional charge

New Delhi: Usha Singh, Director (Human Resources), MOIL Limited, who earlier held the distinction of being the first functional woman director on the board of the PSU, has now also become the first woman to take charge of the MOIL CMD post. Singh has assumed additional charge as MOIL CMD on Tuesday after former CMD MP Chaudhari attained the age of superannuation on October 31, said a regulatory filing.

"As per order no F.No.4/1/2021-BLA dated 28.10.2022 issued by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, Ms Usha Singh, Director (Human Resource) has taken over additional charge of the Chairperson-cum-Managing Director of the Company w.e.f. 01.11.2022," MOIL told the stock exchanges.

Singh is an Engineering Graduate and an MBA, who has more than 30 years of professional experience. She worked for SAIL for around 25 years and was a Technical Advisor to Chairman, SAIL, for more than eight years.

Singh was the first Director (HR) of MOIL Limited and the first woman to hold the position when she took charge in January 2019. Prior to joining MOIL, she was Executive Director (Personnel & Administration), heading Personnel, HRD, CSR, Administration and other related functions at NMDC. She was also heading the Business Development and Corporate Planning functions at NMDC.

Singh has been adjudged as one of the top 100 Inspirational Women in Mining globally in 2020. She has several other awards also to her credit, which include, 'SCOPE Outstanding Woman Manager 2017' and 'Best Employee Award' in SAIL. She has authored and presented several papers at national as well as international conferences.
