New Delhi: The Board of Directors of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) have appointed Banshi Lal Gujar as an Independent Director on the board of the company. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in its order dated January 7, had conveyed the appointment of Gujar as a non-official (Independent) Director on the board of the company for a period of three years, with effect from the date of issue of order or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Further, the Board of Directors of HUDCO in its meeting held on January 27, have appointed him as an Additional Director, with effect from January 9, 2022.
Gujar hails from the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and is Master's in Political Science. Gujar holds vast and rich experience in the field of politics and social welfare. He is a social activist and carried out numerous welfare activities for farmers' upliftment. He holds the position of National Vice President, Kisan Morcha, Bhartiya Janta Party since May 2021.
As informed by Gujar, he does not hold any shares in the HUDCO and is not related to other directors of the company. Further, based on the affirmation, he is not debarred from holding the office of director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority.
