Eastern Railway achieves 100% electrification as BCPL completes Nimtita-New Farakka section

• The total distance of the project was 79 RKM / 152 TKM and the total value of the project was around Rs 314 million

• BCPL has also successfully conducted a trial run at 100 kmph on the newly electrified Nimtita- New Farakka section in West Bengal

Kolkata: BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has completed the electrification of Nimtita-New Farakka section of West Bengal and with it, Eastern Railway has now been 100 percent electrified. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, the company said on Monday, "BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited is quite enthused in updating its esteemed stakeholders about their recent success where the company has exclusively executed electrification project in Nimtita – New Farakka section of West Bengal." The total distance of the Eastern Railways project was 79 RKM / 152 TKM and the total value of the project was around Rs 314 million, said the company.

"BCPL Railway Infra has successfully completed the work of design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25KV, 50 Hz, Single Phase, AC Electrification works, including OHE and TSS as composite Electrical work in Azimgunj (Incl) – Nalhati (Excl) and Azimganj – New Farakka / Toldanga (Excl.) section, Group – 188A & 189 including Sagardighi Thermal Power Station & Sonar Bangla Cement Siding in Azimgunj-New Farakka Section of Howrah & Malda Division of Eastern Railway under RE Danapur," the filing said.

BCPL conducts trial run on Nimita-New Farakka section of Eastern Railways

BCPL has also successfully conducted a trial run at 100 kmph on the newly electrified Nimtita- New Farakka section in West Bengal, which has concluded 100 percent electrification of the Eastern Railway. The project marks one of the major milestone in the Eastern Railway history – as it completes 100 percent Electrification.

The project has received significant credit and appreciation from the government authorities on social media through many well recognised handles. Commenting on the same, Aparesh Nandi, BCPL Railway Infra Chairman, said, "We at BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited are quite pleased to inform our stakeholders on our recent achievement in making 100 percent electrified railway in Nimtita – New Farakka section of West Bengal. This is a very proud moment for all of us as we were instrumental in achieving a major milestone in the Eastern Railway history. We are quite optimistic about the future prospects of our company as the Government in the recent Budget has announced efforts to achieve 100% Electrification of broad gauge routes by December 2023. We possess robust orders of around Rs 2 billion on hand and we are quite optimistic about timely execution of orders."
