Krishna Kumar Singh set to be next Director (Personnel) of SAIL

New Delhi: Krishna Kumar Singh is set to be the next Director (Personnel) of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration) in SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant.

Singh has been recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of SAIL, from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on April 1. There were two more candidates, who appeared for the interview, were from SAIL and one candidate was from SJVN Limited.

Singh is an Engineering Graduate (B Tech in Electrical Engineering) from Banaras Hindu University. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU). Singh started his career in SAIL as Junior Manager on July 8, 1988, at Bhilai Steel Plant. He was promoted as Manager on June 30, 1996, he worked in Blooming and Billet Mill. Thereafter, on June 30, 2001, he was promoted as Senior Manager and posted in Human Resource Development Department where he was made Assistant General Manager on June 30, 2005.

Singh was promoted as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration) of Bhilai Steel Plant on November 16, 2018. Subsequently, on 26 October 2019, he was transferred to SAIL Corporate Office where he served as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration). On December 31, 2021, he was transferred to Bhilai Steel Plant as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration).
