New Delhi: MECON's CVO Upkar Kumar Kedia (ITS) has been given additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer of Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL), a Nagpur-based Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. The government has approved the proposal for the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of CVO of MOIL on March 18. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post for a period of one year from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till the appointment of regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kedia is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of the 1995 batch. He is currently serving as CVO of MECON Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics & Communication) degree from BIT, Sindri (Jharkhand), which he earned in 1994. He also holds an MTech degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (now IIT, Varanasi), which he received in 1997. In addition, he holds a PGDBA (HRM) from Symbiosis, Pune (2007).

In a career spanning over 20 years, Kedia has worked in various capacities in the Department of Telecommunications, including as Assistant Director-General in New Delhi and Director in Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. He has extensive experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of digital telephone exchanges, preparation of generic requirements related to value-added services in mobile technology validation and testing of mobile network elements, telecom enforcement and monitoring of various telecom service providers.
