New Delhi: Mirza Mohammad Abdulla has been appointed as the new Director (Production & Planning) of MOIL Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of Abdulla on Monday. According to an order issued the by Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Abdulla has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation, ie August 31, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as General Manager in the same organisation.
Abdulla was recommended for the post of Director (Production & Planning) of MOIL Limited by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on October 12, 2021. He was among four candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.
As Director (Production & Planning) of MOIL Limited, Abdulla will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He will be the head of Production, Projects and Planning Departments of the organisation. He also will be accountable for achieving a high degree of performance and productivity through well-directed coordination of all operations.
MOIL is a Miniratna state-owned manganese ore mining company headquartered in Nagpur. With a market share of 50 percent, it is the largest producer of manganese ore in India. MOIL operates 11 mines in adjoining districts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It has been ranked #486 among the top 500 companies in India and ninth in the Mines and Metals Sector of the Fortune India 500 list for 2011.
