NMDC clocks best-ever iron ore production, sales numbers in February

• The cumulative production and sales for the first 11 months of FY22, up to February, stood at 37.18 MT and 36.57 MT, respectively
• These also represent the best-ever 11-month physical performance for NMDC

Hyderabad: NMDC, the country's largest iron ore producer, has reported production of 4.31 MT and sale of 3.97 MT of iron ore for the month of February 2022. This reflects a growth of 11.7 percent in production and 22.2 percent in sales over the corresponding period of the last year, the highest production and sales numbers for any February in the history of the mining major, said NMDC in a statement on Tuesday.

The cumulative production and sales for the first 11 months of FY22, up to February, stood at 37.18 MT and 36.57 MT, respectively, registering a growth of 26 percent in production and 25.5 percent in sales over the same period last year. These also represent the best-ever 11-month physical performance for NMDC, said the PSU.

Congratulating the NMDC team for yet another impressive performance, NMDC CMD Sumit Deb said, "With an overwhelming performance this month, NMDC remains an iron and steel powerhouse and this success is attributed to all the stakeholders of the company. This strong performance underwrites our commitment to stay on the growth path."
