New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has signed the franchise agreements with six parties to become franchise agencies of NRDC for commercialisation its technologies and services. NRDC has a technology bank of about 3,000 innovative technologies sourced from different public-funded, national R&D laboratories and universities.

The corporation intends to enhance its reach to each and every state of the country and augment its technology licensing activities. In order to do so the Corporation engaged Franchisee for licensing of the technologies offered by it on a pilot mode.

The agreements have been signed by NRDC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Dr H Purushotham with six agencies. These franchises are from Vishakhapatnam, Noida, Gurugram, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Nazvid (AP) and would be operating from these places for generating business leads for the corporation in the transfer of technologies offered by it.

Speaking on this Dr Purushotham said that through these pilot franchisees, the innovative technologies can be available to the youth and entrepreneurs of the country who can start their technology-based business ventures and hopes that this partnership would be a win-win opportunity and creates awareness about the availability of innovative technologies to the aspiring entrepreneurs across the country. If the pilot is successful this model would be scaled up.
